How to “add landlord”

Optional but highly suggested

With SoftScreen®, everything can be automatically shared between agents and landlords.

As the listing agent, just "Add Landlord" to your listing. This invites your listing client to join distribution. It does NOT make it mandatory or force them to join.

IF THEY OPT IN you'll both receive everything renters provide, automatically, at the same time. This is secure and private distribution to you and your listing client, authorized by the renter.

This is safer!

Using less secure methods to send an applicant’s sensitive information is not considered best practice. If mistakes are made, once an email is sent, it's impossible to unsend it!

Recently enacted laws regarding Personal Identifying Information (PII) may also make things challenging when files are sent via email or document sharing platforms.

Adding Landlord is faster and easier.

It beats compiling multiple reports, applications, and documents like proof of income, and other financials. Doing this for one or more offers is time-consuming, tedious, and subject to laws protecting PII.

Who needs the hassle?

SoftScreen® can do it all, saving time and effort and preventing accidental mishaps.

How to “Add Landlord”

  1. CLICK "Landlords Add | Edit" found in the shortcut bar at the top of your dashboard.

  2. On the following screen, you will see the address of your listing.
CLICK to expand, then click "Add / Edit Landlord Info"

  3. On the next and final screen, enter the landlord’s email address in the designated field. Click to save.

That’s it! Once done, you will see a red "edit" button.

This appears in case you need to remove or change the landlord's email address at a future time.

FYI: If the landlord states they cannot view tenant submissions:

Make sure you do not have more than one entry for the same rental address.

To do this, click "My Rentals" in the shortcut bar at the top of your dashboard.

Scroll through your list of addresses.

If there is more than one entry for the same property, please delete any duplicate entries, then make sure the landlord is added to the one remaining entry.

For agents whose broker participates in MLS automation:

Your MLS will have entered your listing for you automatically. If you manually entered the address of your listing OR had accepted a listing invitation for this address from another agent, you accidentally created a duplicate.

Delete any duplicates, keeping ONLY the entry with the MLS number.

This entry will automatically delete once the property is marked closed in your MLS.
