Without an invitation, renter information is shared with one agent of the renter’s choice. It is not shared with a landlord. To share with landlords, an invitation to apply for rent is needed (either your listing, another agent’s, or a landlord’s).

What could be easier? Landlords can accept, opt-in, and receive everything directly in their own SoftScreen® account! Safe, secure, simple.

“Invitation Management” lets you track all invitations

You can check an invitation’s status to see if the invitee has accepted it and where they are in the process. You can even cancel or re-send an invitation!

Does every renter need their own invitation?

Can Two or More Renters Share the Same Account?

Renters cannot share the same account. Each renter will require their own invitation. Consumer Reports provide information on an individual applicant. Every individual has their own Social Security or ITIN Number along with their own unique credit, criminal, and eviction history. To provide each applicant's unique information and protect privacy, all applicants must register using their unique email address, create their own secure account, place their own requests, and authorize the release of their information.

When submitting a joint rental application, our Best In Class rental application accommodates information regarding joint applicants as well as for guarantors when applicable.

What if an invitation you’ve sent is not received?

Junk, spam, and accidental deletion happen! No worries! Receiving the link is NOT necessary for the invited party to access an invitation. All invitations are stored in SoftScreen®. It’s like booking a reservation for your client! The invited renter (or landlord) can use the link they receive - OR - if not received, they can log in to a new or existing SoftScreen® account. When they do, SoftScreen® recognizes their email address. Magically, your invitation is immediately presented.

How to invite

Inviting renters is easy. Click “Invite Renters” in your shortcut bar - OR - use the links in your dashboard’s menu. Once you send your invitation, you can check the status using “Invitation Management.”

Inviting landlords is just as easy! Click “Add Landlord” also found in your shortcut bar.
