All agents can send invitation links to renters. These can be sent by email or by text.

There are two types of invitations you can choose to send.

  1. Invite to apply for rent.

    Send an address based link for a specific rental property. This invitation lets you…

    Request and receive the renter’s screening package. SoftScreen automatically shares the package with the listing agent and/or the landlord for the selected address.

    This can be done by ANY agent, whether you represent the renter, or the landlord, or both.

    For the landlord’s listing agent, you can share the screening package with your listing client by setting up landlord direct delivery for any of your rentals.

  2. Invite to Pre-Screen / Agent Sharing

    No property address needed!

    Send a link that lets the renter get and share their screening package with only YOU. Once received, it can be provided to anyone the renter chooses.

  3. Listing agents can

    Send renters your listing’s “Apply Now” link. Every property gets its own dedicated link. Copy and paste it into your own email or text.

How to

Accept an invitation

  1. Invitation to apply for rent.

    You’ll receive a link, either by email or text. Simply click the link and you will be automatically guided.

    The link will be address based, which lets you apply for rent.

    If the link was sent by an agent, you receive and share your screening package with the agent sending the invitation, and with the landlord’s agent, and/or the landlord.

    If the link was sent by the landlord, you receive and share your screening package with the landlord and with any agent who may be representing the landlord and their property.

  2. Invitation to Pre-Screen

    AN invitation to Pre-Screen is not address based, It shares your screening package only with the agent sending the invitation.

    Without receiving an invitation

    Applying for rent

    Sign in, click “Apply for Rent”. You’ll be guided through entering the property address, getting and sharing your screening package with the landlord’s agent and/or landlord.

    Pre-Screen / Agent Sharing

    Sign in, click “Pre-Screen” (with optional agent share). You’ll be guided through getting your screening package. This includes the option of choosing to share it with any agent having a secure SoftScreen account.

    For landlord’s working with an amazing real estate agent, the renter’s screening package can be shared with both landlord and agent.
